This is about my dad, Ted, to his friends.
This website was set up by me after years of being approached in the street by his friends. They each gave me an insight into his life and his wicked sense of humour.
Many of these things I didnt know about, he was just dad to me.
His friends saw a different person.
He retired 6 months early.
On his 65th birthday he was told he had 3 months to live. He behaved as if nothing was wrong at his party that evening.
I didnt find out until a few weeks later.
Then he packed his bags and went on holiday for 3 months!
He lived just 6 months longer.
He worked for the coal board after leaving the RAF. From 1966 he worked for English Electric until it was renamed GEC. He retired in 1990
He loved gardening,I shall have to add some photo's of him with his beloved onions.
Dad was a rear gunner in Lancaster Bombers and an explosives expert in world war 2.
